jerry and i joined the MRHS Alumni Association executive meet at La Barrios, Panay Ave. we were on time. the executives were late! he he . . . so we decided to hang out at the nearby national bookstore. we checked out neat stuff right there. got some colouring books for my girls. i got myself 2 piano sheets.
a phone call after 25 mins i guess, they were there:
Present were:
Ulysses De Guzman (79), Joy Velasco (79), Erl Pabellon (79), Dong Calmada (84), Danny Pasa (77), Danny Queri (80), Tina Pamandre
Agenda of the meet were as follows:
* legal structure of the alumni association (officially registered at SEC),
* grand reunion homecoming in December (date tba),
* fundraising for the association (raffle ticket sales and other fundraising strategies),
* courtesy call to the principal,
* school projects,
* creation of official website of the association and
* dissemination of information to various batches.
the names i listed above were just some of the dedicated members of MRHS community. they deserve commendation for their passion and enthusiasm for contributing their time and effort to the school. it was sad to admit that our batch gave the gap to the many 25th reunions that had already taken place. they asked me the reason why we were holding back. honestly, i myself couldn't explain our silence. tightlipped, i was that night, when they continue asking me about 8T1. somehow, i think, i told them that in one way or the other, our group will come out into something.
the meet was done around 9 pm i guess but jerry and i had to go to meet my nieces in Timog. i promised na gigimik kami that night. didn't know where we're gonna hang out. we waited for them in one of the coffee shops there. . .
we went to Barrakz in Timog. noisy, smokey and crowded on a saturday night. margarita, beer gin, nachos, pizza on our table. lots of chit chats as well. danced for a bit. jerry joined us. still in the street at 3 am. coffee then home.
life!!!
